Terms of service
Draft — illustrative only. This page describes our intent, not a binding agreement. For the version currently in force, contact hello@orphl.ink.
Last updated: 17 May 2026
1. Acceptance
By creating an OrphLink account or using any OrphLink service, you agree to these terms. If you are using OrphLink on behalf of a company or team, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation.
2. Account and access
Accounts are free to create. Paid tiers add features (custom branding, geo/device targeting, variants, higher limits, longer audit retention) — see pricing for the current plans. You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys secret; you can revoke API keys at any time from the dashboard.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use OrphLink to shorten or proxy URLs that:
- Distribute malware, exploit kits, or browser-attack code.
- Conduct phishing, credential harvesting, or impersonate another organisation.
- Promote child sexual abuse material, terrorism, or content unlawful in the United Kingdom.
- Send unsolicited bulk messaging (spam) that violates the receiving platform's terms.
- Evade content-moderation, age verification, or sanctions regimes of third-party platforms.
Every new link's destination is automatically fetched and classified before the redirect goes live. Links flagged as rejected do not resolve. Continued attempts to bypass moderation will result in workspace suspension.
4. Proxy mode
OrphLink offers a "proxy" link mode that fetches the destination's content and serves it under the OrphLink domain (with optional cloaking rules applied). When you use proxy mode you are republishing the destination's content through our infrastructure — you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to do so and that the proxied content does not violate the rules in section 3.
We are not the publisher of proxied content; the workspace owner is. We reserve the right to disable proxy mode on any link or workspace where misuse is detected.
5. Intellectual property
You retain all rights to the content you create on OrphLink (link metadata, branding assets you upload, your destination URLs). You grant us a limited licence to host and serve that content as needed to operate the service. The OrphLink name, logo, and software are ours.
6. Service availability
The Free tier is provided on a reasonable-effort basis with no uptime guarantee. Paid tiers carry a reasonable-effort target; a formal SLA is not yet in effect. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where possible. Status updates: see the Status link in the footer.
7. Termination
You can close your account at any time from the dashboard. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — typically after one warning, immediately for severe abuse (malware, CSAM, sanctions evasion). On termination, your links stop resolving and your data is purged per the retention schedule in the privacy policy.
8. Limitation of liability
OrphLink is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be heard exclusively in the courts of England and Wales.
